Leaders of the G7 have decided to ban new investments in “key areas” of the Russian economy. The energy sector will also be banned.
“G7 will continue to disconnect Russian banks from the global financial system.”
New sanctions against Russia’s military-industrial complex and personal restrictions against members of Russia’s elite and their families have been announced.
Leaders of the G7 have said they would speed up the implementation of a plan to reduce dependence on Russian energy, including phasing out Russian coal.
