The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has put a new domestically produced light machine gun (LMG) into service of Ukraine`s Armed Forces, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
”A Mayak KM-7.62 LMG has been put into service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, since the beginning of the year five new models of weapons and military hardware have been shipped to the Ukrainian army,” Defense Ministry spokesperson Oleksiy Chornobai said at a briefing in Kyiv.
He also said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had tested such armored vehicles as Kazak, Varta, KrAZ, Bars and a Reno multi-purpose truck.
”During the tests the equipment has proved to be in full compliance with the manufacturer`s specifications. The agreements are being reached now to supply [the equipment] to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Chornobai said.
He also informed that last week repairs teams of the Armed Forces of Ukraine brought 132 units of military hardware back to life, these were namely tanks, howitzer weapons, guns and combat vehicles, which would be used for military operations in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine.
Thus, since the beginning of the ATO about 48,000 units of military hardware and weapons have been repaired.
