Russia “needs friends” and is ready to improve relations with the U.S. under President-elect Donald Trump, President Vladimir Putin said in a speech to parliament on Thursday.
“It is important to start to normalize and develop bilateral relations on an equal and mutually beneficial basis,” Putin said, adding that cooperation between the two countries is in the global interest.
“We have a common responsibility to ensure international security and stability,” he said, adding that a poor relationship between the two countries is “extremely dangerous.”
