MI5, the U.K.’s security service, has been named Britain’s most gay-friendly employer by Stonewall, an organization that promotes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.
The group’s workplace equality index published Tuesday puts MI5 at number-one on a list of the top 100 employers in terms of workplace equality for LGBTI staff. The survey assessed staff engagement, career development and employee policy.
MI5 director general Andrew Parker said it was “a great acknowledgement of the continued progress we have made.”
Ruth Hunt, Stonewall’s chief executive, said: “MI5 have made fantastic strides in creating an inclusive workplace.”
