General Staff operational report August 24, 2022 on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The courageous Ukrainian people’s resistance to a Russian military invasion is still going strong on day 182.

Ukraine continues to experience air and missile attacks on both military and civilian objectives from the Russian Federation. There are a lot of air alarms today in particular.

The situation is unaltered in the directions of Volyn, Polissya, and Siversky. The Tovstodubove, Shevchenkove, and Zapsillya Ukrainian villages of the Sumy oblast came under a barrage from the Russian army in the Siversky direction.

Russian invaders used barrel and rocket artillery to bombard twenty additional Ukrainian communities in the Kharkiv direction, including the districts of Kharkiv, Svitlychne, Slatyne, and Ruski Tyshky. Strikes at Verkhniy Saltiv, Pryshyb, Rubizhne, and Odnorobivka were conducted by Russian aircraft.

Russian troops used barrel and jet artillery to attack the towns of Sloviansk, Dolyna, Brazhkivka, Bohorodychne, Krasnopillia, Kostiantynivka, and Dibrivne in the direction of Slovyansk. They attempted to strike in the direction of Nova Dmytrivka, but failed.

Artillery bombardment by Russia in the direction of Kramatorsk was recorded close to Siversk, Hryhorivka, Spirne, Ivano-Daryivka, and Verkhnyokamyanske in Ukraine.

The Russian occupants’ barrel and rocket artillery struck the Ukrainian towns of Kostiantynivka, Bahmut, Soledar, Vesela Dolyna, Bahmutske, Maiorsk, Shumy, Zaytseve, Vasiukivka, Kodema, Bilohorivka, and Yakovlivka in the direction of Bakhmut. With airstrikes, Russia attempted to destroy significant objects near the cities of Soledar and Bakhmut.

The Russian occupants made an effort to strengthen their tactical position in the communities of Soledar, Bakhmutske, and Kodema. They backed off after failar.

Russian occupiers shelled Avdiyivka, Alexandropil, Opytne, Vodiane, Novobahmutivka, Krasnohorivka, and Nevelske in the direction of Avdiyivka using barrel artillery and many rocket systems. Russian airstrikes struck the Mariyinka, Oleksandropil, and Vodiane settlement areas.

The Russian soldiers attempted to retake control of the towns of Pisky and Nevelske by offensive and assault activities. They experienced failure, endured losses, and eventually fled.

Russian aircraft attacks were reported near Volodymyrivka, Pavlivka, and Novomaiorskyi in the Novopavlivskyi direction, Ukraine.

The onslaught of Russia against the Ukrainian communities of Pobyeda, Novomyhaylivka, Pavlivka, and Velyka Novosilka was defeated by Ukrainian defence troops.

With barrel and rocket fire, the Russian army shelled Novopole, Mali Shcherbaky, Orihiv, and fifteen other communities in the Zaporizhia direction. Russian aircraft attacked areas close to Novosilka, Poltavka, Novopole, and Dorozhnianka in Ukraine.

The Russian Federation’s naval force in the Black and Azov seas is still engaged in obstructing civilian commerce in the Black Sea’s northwest corner and wrecking military structures and infrastructure beneath Ukrainian soil.

The Russian bombarded the area along the contact line in the direction of South Buh using the available methods of fire damage in an effort to detare Ukrainian soldiers. Strikes on the Ukrainian towns of Trudoliubivka, Andriyivka, Potiomkyne, Oleksandrivka, Lozove, Velyke Artakove, and Bila Krynytsia were conducted using Russian aircraft.

The Russian Federation tried to strike in the direction of Mykolaivka, but failed. The Russian army suffered losses at the hands of Ukrainian forces, who also drove them back.
