Yatseniuk: World must prevent Russia from deploying nuclear weapons in Crimea

The international community must take all measures to prevent Russia from deploying nuclear weapons in Crimea.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this at a conference organized by the European Policy Center in Brussels on Tuesday, the government portal reported.
“This is a challenge to the whole world, and the world must respond by all means and methods so as to prevent Russia from deploying nuclear weapons on Ukrainian territory, because Crimea is Ukrainian territory,” he said.
He recalled that in 1994 Ukraine gave up its nuclear arsenal by signing an “infamous Budapest Memorandum.”
Yatseniuk said that the deployment of nuclear weapons in Crimea was “another sign that this is not a conflict only between Ukraine and Russia.”
“This war is not only in Ukraine. Ukraine for Russia is the battlefield against the West, against the EU, NATO countries, against international law and order,” Yatseniuk said.
