Yanukovych`s questioning via video conference to be held today

On November 25, the Svyatoshinsky District Court of Kyiv will hold a hearing in the case of the Maidan events, with plans announced to question as a witness Ukraine`s disgraced ex-president Viktor Yanukovych via video conference.

The questioning of Viktor Yanukovych is scheduled for 13:00 Kyiv time.

In addition to the former head of state, the court will question former commander of the troops of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry Stanislav Shulyak.

Both men will testify from the Rostov regional court in Russia via a video conference.

Yanukovych and Shulyak are witnesses in the case of five former Berkut riot police officers, who are accused of murdering  the Maidan activists in February 2014.

Earlier, the Prosecutor in the case Oleksiy Donskoy did not rule out technical problems with the video link during interrogation.

Yanukovych`s lawyer Vitaliy Serdiuk said that Viktor Yanukovych had been expected to testify via a video conference in a criminal case of the five former Berkut riot police officers on November 25.
