Wage arrears decreased by 7% in Ukraine, down to UAH 1.9 bln

The largest debt has been accumulated at the enterprises in Luhansk (25.2%), Donetsk (18.1%) and Kharkiv (10.1%) regions.

Wage arrears across Ukraine in August 2016 decreased by 7% compared to July, amounting to UAH 1.9 billion as of September 1, as reported by the State Statistics Service.

The debt to workers of economically active enterprises in August decreased by 9%, to UAH 1.24 billion, reads the report.

The main volume of debt has been formed at industrial enterprises (72%). 10% of the debt regards workers in the fields of transport, storage, postal and courier services.

The greatest volumes of debt have been accumulated at the enterprises in Luhansk (25.2%), Donetsk (18.1%) and Kharkiv (10.1%) regions.

The data are presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as part of the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in July 2016, wage arrears in Ukraine increased by 4% compared to June, amounting to UAH 2 billion on August 1.
