Upon arrival in Kyiv representatives of the Visegrad Group countries have agreed on the practical distribution of contributions to specific areas of reforms in Ukraine.
Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Miroslav Lajcak said this at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
“Slovakia will be the main country in helping to reform the energy sector and the security sector. Poland will be responsible for decentralization, local government and the financial sector. The Czech Republic will assist in reforming the media, education and civil society. Hungary will be responsible for economy, SMEs, and the agreement on a free trade area,” he said.
Lajcak stressed that no one would be able to implement reforms, apart from Ukraine. However, there is no alternative to reforms. “We want to see Ukraine as a prosperous European country, and we are sure that it will be so,” he said.
He also said that the visit by the Visegrad Group representatives aimed to support the peace process on the basis of the Minsk protocol.
