The parliament adopted the law as a whole “On amendments to the Criminal Code of Ukraine (to strengthen accountability for violation of electoral rights).”
233 deputies voted for this decision.
Adviser to the Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko previously said that, in particular, the penalty for selling a vote will be UAH 340-5,100 – if it is proved that citizens vote for a particular candidate in exchange for financial assistance from him.
The document also calls for an increase of sentences for people, who falsify documents to elections, forge them and organize bribing of voters.
