The Prosecutor General’s Office charges the officials of PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia of abuse of power in selling LNG worth almost UAH 110 million within a criminal proceeding.
The PGO Media Liaison Department told Ukrinform.
“Criminal proceedings were initiated on charges of abuse of authority or office by the officials of PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia,” the Media Liaison Department informs.
As noted in the prosecutor’s office, the proceedings were registered by results of an audit of legality of selling liquefied gas by PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia.
“In particular, it was found that this company sold liquefied gas of domestic production at an auction to the amount of 8,900 tonnes of totaling UAH 109.9 million for commercial purposes,” the report says.
At the same time, the GPO specified, under the law, JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia has to sell monthly the produced volume of LNG at specialized stock auctions for everyday needs.
“Officials of the said company by abusing their official position and contrary to the law, without the schedule of auctions and the starting price of each lot, being approved by the auction committee, without planning of liquefied gas volumes, independently decided to hold an auction and realized the set amount of liquefied natural gas for commercial purposes without the auction committee meeting, “the PGO said.
To remind, it is on liquefied gas, according to the Prosecution, the company of businessman Serhiy Kurchenko illegally earned hundreds of millions of hryvnias. In particular, the Kurchenko group bought gas as fuel for residents and sold at a market price. Only on liquefied gas, PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia lost UAH 1 billion over a year in favor of Kurchenko.
Kurchenko is on the international wanted list.
