“Sappers from the Ukrainian army start their training courses in Lithuania. NLETI initiative will help with de-mining of Ukraine. We need to protect our people from the dangerous&horrible consequences of war. Thank you to my friend Arvydas Anušauskas [the Minister of Defense of Lithuania – ed.] for the strengthening & leadership!” Tweeted the Ukrainian Minister of Defense.

The training of Ukrainian demining specialists takes place within the framework of the Northern European-Lithuanian Minesweeper Training Initiative (NLETI).

The training course on the disposal of explosive objects was organized by Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Lithuania. Oleksii Reznikov thanked these countries for their help.

It is expected that during 2023 there will be four such trainings. Sappers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have defused more than 45,000 explosive devices since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
