Ukrainian pilots are virtually trained on American attack aircraft

On August 20, 2022, it became known that Ukrainian pilots are being helped to master the A-10 fighters virtually at the secret training center in the USA. The initiator of the creation of the training camp was an ordinary Ukrainian officer Alexander Gorgan, who voluntarily went to the front from the first days of the war.

During one of the battles for the Kyiv region, he realized that the A-10 aircraft could significantly strengthen the Armed Forces. Since that time, he has made every effort to get the US to train Ukrainian pilots.

American pilots have already started training their Ukrainian colleagues. This is the first time that such training takes place before a decision on the provision of weapons is made.

“Around the room, five Ukrainian pilots underwent training on the simulators. Were it not for all the uniformed personnel, the scene could have been mistaken for a gamer convention. Each station had a realistic throttle, flight stick and VR goggles linked up to a computer tower that gave off a technicolor glow. None of the gear was classified, and most of the components came from a niche of the gaming community that builds flight simulators for fun.”

Training now takes place with the help of virtual reality simulators. Not only the names of the soldiers stationed there, but also their faces are hidden from the journalists who visited the base. The instructors explain that the training of military pilots is very expensive for any country. The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have many such specialists, and some of them also died in the war. Therefore, their data is carefully hidden from the public.
