Ukrainian journalists find most popular countries for fleeing corrupt officials

The Nashi Groshi investigatory journalism website has decided to experiment by placing powerful fugitives from Ukraine on the world map.

It is noted that the most popular destination for those suspected of corruption is Russia, a report says.

Among those who are currently hiding in Russia are former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, former head of the State Tax Service Oleksandr Klymenko, former head of the National Bank Serhiy Arbuzov, a ”talented” businessman Serhiy Kurchenko and others.

Additionally, former MPs Vadym Kolesnichenko and Oleh Tsariov are hiding in Russian-occupied Crimea.

However, sanctions imposed by Western countries against Russia prevent them from leaving the territory of the state.

The second most popular country is Spain. Those who are already wanted and those who may soon be put onto a wanted list own houses there.

Only those who are supported by the United States can feel comfortable in Israel. Without such support, it can be difficult for corrupt officials to stay in that country.

Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, the son of Azarov, and, according to some information, the Klyuyev brothers, have found refuge in Austria.

The situation is comfortable and stable for them there, noted officials.
