Ukrainian grain exports reach nearly 19 mln tonnes

Ukrainian agrarians from the beginning of the 2016-2017 marketing year (July 2016 – June 2017) have exported 18.8 million tonnes of grain, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

In particular, 10.2 million tonnes of wheat was exported, barley – about 4 million tonnes, and corn – some 4.6 million tonnes.

In addition, during the reporting period, the agrarians delivered to foreign markets 136,400 tonnes of flour, of which 136,000 tonnes was wheat flour and 400 tonnes was other types of this product.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in the 2015-2016 marketing year (June 2015 – July 2016), Ukraine exported a record amount of grain, 39.4 million tonnes, breaking the record of 2014-2015 MY in the amount of 34.8 million tonnes. Experts expect that the export of current MY will amount to 41 million tonnes.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food expects that the Ukrainian agrarians in the current year will collect some 64.2 million tonnes of grain.
