Ukrainian farmers export over 20 mln tonnes of grain since July 2016

Ukrainian farmers have exported 20.1 million tonnes of grain since the beginning of the 2016/2017 marketing year (July 2016 through June 2017), according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry`s press service.

In particular, they exported 10.6 million tonnes of wheat, about 4.1 million tonnes of barley, and 5.3 million tonnes of maize.

What is more, 165,100 tonnes of flour was exported over the period under review. Of the amount, 164,500 tonnes was wheat flour, and other types of flour totaled 600 tonnes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine exported a record high amount of grain in the 2015/2016 marketing year (June 2015-July 2016), which was estimated at 39.4 million tonnes vs. 34.8 million tonnes in the 2014/2015 marketing year. Experts predict grain exports in the current marketing year may hit 41 million tonnes.

The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry projected Ukraine`s grain harvest in the current year would be 64.2 million tonnes.
