Ukrainian air defense forces shot down four Russian missiles on August 8

The press service of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informs that on August 8, 2022, the Ukrainian military shot down four Russian”Kalibr” missiles launched by the occupiers from the Black Sea.

“Today, on August 8, at about 10:00, the occupiers fired four “Kalibr”-type sea-launched cruise missiles from the Black Sea from the southern direction. All targets were shot down by the air defense of the Air Force.”

It notes that one missile was shot down in the Odesa region by the anti-aircraft missile unit of the “South” air command, and the remaining three were eliminated in the central regions of Ukraine by anti-aircraft missile units of the “Centre” air command.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked our Air force for its work.

“Today I especially want to thank the Ukrainian anti-aircraft fighters of Air Command “Centre” and Air Command “Pivden” (South) for the successful destruction of Russian missiles that were launched from the Black Sea in the morning. The four downed “Kalibr” missiles represent dozens of Ukrainian lives saved.”
