Ukraine’s representative to UN demands Russia to release Savchenko and other political prisoners

Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN Yuriy Sergeyev has addressed the Russian delegation, demanding the immediate release of Nadia Savchenko and other citizens of Ukraine illegally detained in the Russian Federation.
He said this during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“It is necessary to immediately release Nadia Savchenko, who continues hunger strike, and whose life is threatened, as well as other (Ukrainian) citizens illegally detained within the territory of Russia,” he said in his speech.
