Ukraine`s Naftogaz offers industry better gas prices

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine will reduce the minimum price of natural gas for industrial consumers by 7.9% to UAH 6,036 per 1,000 cubic meters from September 1, 2016, compared with UAH 6,556 in August 2016, according to a statement by the company.

Simultaneously, the company will lower the ceiling price for industrial consumers by 3.8% to UAH 6,762 per 1,000 cubic meters from September 1, from UAH 7,304 in August 2016.

The company said its prices differ depending on the volumes of purchases, conditions of payment and the payment history.

If a buyer has no debts to Naftogaz or orders at least 50 million cubic meters of gas per month, the minimum price will be applied. In all other cases, a higher price will be set.

All the mentioned prices take into account VAT and transportation costs.

As UNIAN reported earlier, a new law on the natural gas market became effective in Ukraine on October 1, 2015, which stripped the national energy regulatory commission of the right to fix the price of natural gas for the industry.

In August 2016, Naftogaz raised the floor price of gas for industrial consumers by 9.3% to UAH 6,556 per 1,000 cubic meters compared to July 2016, while the ceiling price was increased by 8.6% to UAH 7,304 per 1,000 cubic meters.
