Ukraine’s export of high-tech products to Russia collapsed by one third in 2014, expert says

Ukrainian exports of high-tech products to Russia in 2014 fell by a third.
The expert in the field of internal and external economic and socio-political processes Vsevolod Stepaniuk reported the news on Thursday during a press conference on shutdown of Yuzhmash in the city of Dnipropetrovsk, manufacturing, Ukrinform reports.
“More than 60% of its total exports, the entire high-tech products went to the Russian Federation in 2013. In 2014, exports to the Russian Federation dropped to 68%,” he said.
According to the expert, the majority of high-tech products were exported only to Russia. Therefore, decline in exports led to a shutdown of Ukrainian plants associated with defense industry and machine manufacturing plants.
