Ukraine`s economy ministry projects 1.2% industrial growth by year`s end

The Ukrainian Ministry for Economic Development and Trade forecasts a 1.2% increase in industrial production by the end of the current year.

”By the end of 2016, industrial production is expected to grow by 1.2%, according to the Economic Development Ministry`s estimates,” the ministry said in an analytical material posted on its website.

The ministry also pointed out that moderate recovery in domestic demand and investment will act as compensation for such restrictions as additional trade limitations by the Russian Federation. However, a decisive role in the dynamics of industrial production can be played by a deterioration of the situation on world commodity markets, namely a decline in prices of ferrous metals, iron ore and mineral fertilizers. Such factor as transportation in the east of the company may also influence the situation, the ministry said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in August 2016 saw an increase in industrial production by 3.4% year-over-year after a 0.2% decline in July 2016 from July 2015.
