Ukraine`s budget in Feb sees UAH 4.9 bln deficit due to social spending

Ukraine`s national budget was executed with a deficit of UAH 4.9 billion, or about $187 million, in February 2016, which translated into a combined deficit of UAH 2.4 million in January-February 2016, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The deficit was formed due to an expected increase in social spending with a simultaneous slowdown in revenue growth.
As the same time, the consolidated budget, which consists of the national coffer and local budgets, posted a surplus of UAH 800 million due to the UAH 5.7 billion surplus of the local budgets, which is traditionally high at the beginning of the year.

Ukraine`s parliament passed a bill on Ukraine`s national budget on December 25, 2015, setting its deficit at 3.7% of GDP. The revenues were fixed at UAH 595 billion.
