Ukraine`s Agrarian Minister calls for privatization of SFGCU, Agrarian Fund

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovyi has spoken in favor of privatization of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine and the Agrarian Fund, the state-owned enterprise on forward purchases.
”I am convinced that such enterprises as the Agrarian Fund and the SFGCU may be more effective, and it makes no sense to keep them on the state balance sheet. I see the exit from this situation in the privatization of these institutions, while the details should be worked out directly with their representatives,” Kutovyi wrote on Facebook.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the head of the agricultural ministry had announced that he intended to retain state property over the strategic enterprises of the agricultural sector.
In March, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau the information on financial violations worth UAH 14 billion in the three largest state-owned companies of the agricultural sector – the SFGCU, Ukrspirt, and the Agrarian Fund.
