“The Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on inland waterway navigation concluded on 02.05.1998 in the city of Minsk, has been denounced.”

The agreement determined the procedure and conditions for sailing vessels of Ukraine and Belarus on the inland waterways of both countries. Three years ago, Ukraine planned to develop shipping with Belarus and implement the E-40 waterway project, which was supposed to pass through the territory of Ukraine, Belarus and Poland via the Dnipro, Pripyat, Zahidnyi Bug and Vistula rivers. It was planned that it would increase the annual cargo flow between the Baltic and Black seas by 4-6 million tons.

But it did not work out – the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Lukashenko, cut off all projects with Ukraine, as well as with European countries, and is supporting his counterpart, Russian dictator Putin.
