Ukraine to ask EU to increase gas imports

Ukraine is going to solve the problem of gas supply in 2015 by increasing the share of gas supplied from Europe up to 60 %, that is why the state asks Europe to increase gas imports.
This was stated by CEO of the state gas company NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev.
According to Kobolev, Ukraine plans to purchase from Russia no more than 40% of the total gas imports, and in few years Ukraine intends to reduce this amount to one-third.
The Naftogaz CEO also said that Ukraine would ask Europe to increase gas imports to 90%, if Naftogaz and Gazprom did not come to an agreement on prices. At the same time, he noted that Naftogaz did not foresee any problems with gas supplies from Russia in the first quarter.
