Ukraine sees industrial production growth resume in August

Ukraine`s industrial output in August 2016 grew by 3.4% year-over-year (y-o-y), after a 0.2% decrease recorded a month before, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Industrial output in August 2016 compared to July 2016 shrank by 0.8%, after a 7% increase in July 2016 from June 2016, the statistics agency said in a report.

Since the beginning of the year, in January-August, the industrial output has grown by 2% y-o-y.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the decline in industrial output in Ukraine in July 2016 slowed to 0.2% y-o-y, against 3.4% recorded in June.

Since the beginning of the year, in January-June, industrial production in Ukraine increased by 2%.

In 2015, the decline of industrial production accelerated to 13.4% as compared to 2014, from 10.7% recorded a year earlier.

According to an expert consensus forecast compiled by UNIAN, industrial production in Ukraine is expected to grow by 3% this year.
