Ukraine sees 2.8% rise in agricultural production in 10 months

Agricultural production in Ukraine grew by 2.8% in January-October 2016 compared to the same period in 2015, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

In particular, agri-businesses boosted production by 3.9% in the reporting period, households saw a 1.6% increase in output.

Crop production in the 10 months this year rose by 5% year-over-year. Agri-businesses reported a 5.7% increase in crop production, while households saw a 4.1% growth.

At the same time, output of animal products decreased by 2.8% in January-October 2016. Agri-businesses reported a 2.1% decline, while households saw a 3.4% drop.

The current report does not cover temporarily occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as part of the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in eastern Ukraine.
