Ukraine MFA: Mejlis ban actually ban of Crimean Tatar people

The ban on Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people by the occupation authorities of Crimea is actually a ban on these people, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Mariana Betsa said on Thursday during a rally in support of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square in Kyiv.

”The Ukrainian government is doing everything to de-occupy Crimea. I want to emphasize once again that Crimea is Ukraine,” she wrote on Twitter.

”The ban on the Mejlis is actually a ban on the Crimean Tatar people. We are all Crimean Tatars today! The ban on the Mejlis is another crime in the chain of Russian crimes against Crimea, against Ukraine,” she tweeted.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on September 29, Russia`s Supreme Court began the consideration of the appeal to the prohibition of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea.
