Ukraine lost 20% of economy because of Russian aggression – Yatseniuk

Ukraine has lost 20% of its economic potential because of Russian aggression.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this in Brussels on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“In the context of macroeconomics, we expect a 7% drop in GDP. Yes, the drop, rather than growth. Ukraine has lost 20% of its economic potential because of Russian aggression in Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk. It also significantly affected the industry, and its figures decreased by 10%,” he said.
Despite such negative trends, Yatseniuk said, this year the government collected 5% more taxes and fees than last year.
“But we know how to respond to these challenges. We need to do it together with our European partners and G7 members in order to survive a very difficult year 2015 and gain growth and stabilization in 2016,” he said.
