Ukraine hopes to increase its own gas production by 500-700 million cubic meters and to reach a sufficient output of gas by 2020, in order to fully cover the internal demand, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said on live television late Friday.
”We are increasing [the output] by 500-700 million cubic meters of gas in 2017, and we will raise it by 2020 to have enough of own gas. We will be using our gas, which will be enough for us. And we will not spend money on imported gas,” the head of government said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine`s largest gas producer Ukrgazvydobuvannia plans to increase production of natural gas in 2017 by 500-600 mcm, compared with the figure projected for 2016, up to 15 billion cubic meters.
