Ukraine government expands list of state entities subject to privatization

The government committee on economic, financial and legal policy; development of petroleum and energy complexes; and infrastructure, defense and law enforcement has approved the expansion of a list of state enterprises subject to privatization in 2016-2017 to 330 entities, First Deputy Economy Minister Yulia Kovaliv wrote on Facebook.

The privatization list now includes Kharkiv-based turbine building enterprise Turboatom, Elektrovazhmash, State Food and Grain Corporation, United Mining and Chemical Company and Zaporizhia Titanium and Magnesium Combine.

”We included an additional 126 enterprises … the total number of entities to be put up for sale in 2016-2017 will be 330,” she wrote.

Kovaliv reported that the latest draft of the Cabinet of Ministers` Resolution No. 271, which specified the list of entities to be privatized in 2016-2017, included 306 enterprises.

At the same time, 102 entities that have already been sold, are in the process of liquidation or are located in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone have been excluded from the list.

”We expect to receive the government`s approval. We remain committed to the idea of a large-scale and transparent privatization process,” Kovaliv added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, this year, the State Property Fund of Ukraine plans to put up for sale 450 state-owned entities, including 20 large enterprises, 50 medium-sized companies, and 380 small entities.
