Ukraine and European Investment Bank agree on financing programs worth EUR 600 mln

Ukraine and the European Investment Bank later this afternoon will sign an agreement on granting Ukraine EUR 600 million within a framework of the EU assistance package, Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, told a joint briefing with Ukraine`s First Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv following the EU-Ukraine Association Council, on December 19, 2016 in Brussels.

”This afternoon, Ukraine and the European Investment Bank will sign agreements for up to EUR 600 million that will allow the EIB to reach its EUR 3 billion commitment under the EU support package for Ukraine,” Mogherini said.

”Earlier this morning we also signed a financial agreement for the public administration reform program,” said Mogherini.

”We looked at the new program of EUR 52.5 million to support the rule of law in Ukraine, namely judiciary and the law enforcement,” she added.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine`s Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk noted that Ukraine was expecting to receive before year-end the second tranche of EU`s macroeconomic assistance totaling EUR 600 million.

Also on December 19, Ukraine and the EU signed off the agreements on allocating EUR 104 million for public administration reform program and Ukraine`s participation in a program of cross border partnership with a budget of EUR 365 million.
