Ukraine conquering Asian markets

The Ukrainian Ministry for Economic Development and Trade reports Ukraine has been actively conquering new Asian markets, including those of China and Vietnam.

”As of today, our trade is mainly limited to the supply of farm produce. But exports of value-added goods are much more interesting for us, and we`re now engaged in this activity – the export of processed farm produce and machine-building commodities, along with cooperation in the defense industry,” Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade Yulia Kovaliv told TV Channel 5.

”In fact, we`ve effectively opened a window to the Asian markets,” she said, referring to recent visits by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to Indonesia and Malaysia.

Kovaliv also said Ukraine has been actively conquering Chinese and Vietnamese markets.

”In the past two years we have, in fact, lost the traditional Russian market, and today we`re working hard to win new markets. Official visits of the president and our team to Indonesia and Malaysian have taken place. In addition, we will hold a joint commission with China this year and have also proposed a joint commission with Vietnam late in October,” she stated.
