Ukraine has decided to apply for NATO membership.

“De facto we are already in NATO. We have demonstrated compatibility with the Alliance standards. They are real for Ukraine, on the battlefield, as well as in all aspects of our interaction. We trust each other, we help each other, and we protect each other. This is what the Alliance is. De facto. Today, Ukraine is applying to make it de jure in a procedure that will be consistent with our important goal of protecting the entire community.”

According to the President, Ukraine is taking this decisive step by signing Ukraine’s application for accelerated accession to NATO.
