Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian cities had become brothers to Polish ones, Ukrainian people had become brothers to Polish people, and the two countries had become sisters.

“We are relatives. And there are no borders or barriers between us. The Ukrainian and Polish peoples have not been mentally separated by borders for a long time. So, we agreed to implement this in the near future in a bilateral agreement. First on the joint border and customs control, and then on the single conditional border once Ukraine becomes a member of the European Union.”

He also thanked Polish President for his joint initiative with the Slovak leader to persuade European colleagues who are still hesitant about Ukraine’s candidate status in the EU.
