Ukraine accumulates 1.4 million tonnes of coal, resumes supply – Yatseniuk

Ukraine has accumulated 1.4 million tonnes of coal in its storage facilities and gradually resumes coal supplies.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this at a press conference on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“As for the remainder of coal – the amount of coal consumption and the coal that we get has finally become positive, plus 10,000 tonnes daily. We have accumulated a certain amount of coal in storage facilities. Some 1.4 million tonnes has currently been accumulated,” Yatseniuk said.
He added that this figure was catastrophic compared with last year.
“This is certainly a catastrophic figure compared with last year, because last year we had 3.4 million tonnes. But we are gradually resuming the process of coal supplies,” the prime minister said.
At the same time, Yatseniuk expressed hope that it would soon be possible to sign a transparent agreement with Russia on coal supplies.
