Tombinski says data of DPR-accredited media should be ”no longer published”

Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine, Ambassador Jan Tombinski has called on the Ukrainian authorities to help ensure that personal data of journalists accredited by the self-proclaimed republics in Donbas ”is no longer published.”
”I urge the Ukrainian authorities to help ensure that this content is no longer published,” he said in a statement on Facebook on Wednesday evening.
”I have noted with the concern that some Ukrainian websites have published the personal data of journalists, who have received accreditation in the so-called ”DNR” [or the Donetsk People`s Republic, also known as DPR] and ”LNR” [the Luhansk People`s Republic, LPR],” he said.
He claims that the publication of the journalists` leaked personal data violates the best international practices relating to personal data protection, is ”not in line with the Ukrainian law on the protection of personal data and puts journalists at risk.”
As UNIAN reported, Kyiv-based ”Myrotvorets” website at psb4ukr.org posted personal information of reportedly more than 4,000 representatives of various Ukrainian and international media outlets, including CNN, Agence France-Presse, Reuters, the BBC, the New York Times, Vice News, and Al Jazeera, who were accredited by the so-called ”DPR.”
