The United States has introduced Temporary Protected Status for citizens of Ukraine who are in the country

The Temporary Protected Status announced in early March for Ukrainian citizens who were in the United States has been officially introduced as of today. The relevant decision has been entered into the Federal Register and will be published and registered on April 19, 2022.

“At the request of the Ukrainian side, the date for which Ukrainian citizens were to stay in the United States to qualify for the Temporary Protected Status was postponed from March 1 to April 11, 2022. Thus, Ukrainian citizens who were physically in the United States as of April 11 will be able to use this program. “

The Head of the President’s Office notes that the status of temporary protection will allow Ukrainians to stay in the United States for up to 18 months with the possibility of submitting documents for a work permit in the country.
