President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also present at the speech. The politician’s speech was not broadcast online for security reasons.

Among other things, Boris Johnson promised to provide Ukraine with a new package of military aid worth 300 million pounds. It will include missiles, counter-battery radars, electronic warfare, GPS jamming, and thousands of night-vision devices.

“This is Ukraine’s finest hour, an epic chapter in your national story that will be remembered and recounted for generations to come. Your children and grandchildren will say that Ukrainians taught the world that the brute force of an aggressor counts for nothing against the moral force of people determined to be free.”

Quoting that sanctions were not imposed in time, he said: “We collectively failed.”
