Ukraine expects a clear statement of the facts of violations of nuclear safety protocols from the IAEA mission at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

“We expect the mission to clearly state the facts of violations of nuclear safety protocols. We know that Russia exposes not only Ukraine but the entire world to the risk of a nuclear accident conclusions,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.

The Minister added that he agreed with the Director General of the IAEA on the final details of the mission.

“It was a long-standing request of Ukraine to the IAEA to get access to the plant. The agency has extensive experience in inspecting nuclear facilities around the world under the most difficult circumstances. But without exaggeration, this mission will be the most difficult in the history of the IAEA, given the active hostilities of the Russian Federation in place, as well as the very blatant way Russia is trying to legitimize its presence at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.”
