Surplus of Ukraine`s balance of payments in April estimated at $468 mln

Ukraine`s balance of payments in April of 2016 posted a surplus of $468 million compared to a deficit of $168 million in the same period last year, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The balance of payments in January through April 2016 turned to a deficit amounting to $345 million, which is six times lower than a deficit of $2.109 billion in the same period last year.
The current account of the balance of payments saw a surplus of $327 million in April of 2016 and a deficit of $639 million in January-April of 2016.
The capital account of balance of payments posted a surplus of $3 million in April and $34 million in January-April of 2016.
The financial account deficit amounted to $138 million in April and $260 million in January-April of 2016.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine`s balance of payments in March this year posted a deficit of $859 million, which is 2.8 times higher than a deficit of $308 million in March of 2015, according to preliminary data.
The balance of payments in January through March (Q1 )turned to negative amounting to $813 million, which is 2.4 times lower than a deficit of $1.941 billion for the same period in 2015.
Ukraine posted a surplus of the balance of payments in 2015 at $849 million against a $13.3 billion deficit registered in 2014.
The NBU predicts a surplus of the consolidated balance of payments in 2016 at the level of $1.2 billion, and hopes that together with the disbursements from the IMF the NBU international reserves will grow to $18.7 billion.
