Son of Ukrainian journalist detained in Russia asks to free his dad

Maksym, son of Ukrinform reporter Roman Sushchenko had recorded a video message, where he asks for help to free his father from a Russian prison, in a desperate attempt to make the Russian authorities reconsider their illegal move to arrest the Ukrainian man, Ukraine Today reports.

The message of Maksym Sushchenko was published by Russian lawyer Mark Feygin, who explained that the boy asked him to make the video, according to Ukraine Today.

Maksym says: ”I address anyone to whom it may concern. Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko is my father. Let him go home to me and Mom.”

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Moscow court on Monday prolonged Sushchenko`s arrest for another two months.

He was detained on October 2 on espionage charges.

Ukraine denies the journalist`s involvement in the activities of the intelligence services and demands his immediate release.
