Shakhtar Donetsk players have earned their first victory in this season’s Champions League, following an away 7-0 demolition of Belarus champions BATE Borisov in the third round of the tournament.
Man of the match was Luiz Adriano who scored five goals, repeating Lionel Messi’s record (five goals in a Champions League game).
In the next round on November 5, Shakhtar will host BATE at Arena Lviv.
In another Group H match, Portugal’s Porto defeated Spain’s Athletic Bilbao 2-1.
Team standings: Porto – 7 points, Shakhtar – 5, BATE – 3, Athletic – 1.
