Seventeen Ukrainian servicemen freed from captivity in Horlivka – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with the mothers and wives of the Ukrainian military who were held captive by militants in the town of Horlivka, the presidential press service has reported.
Seventeen hostages were released during a successful operation, and they arrived in Kyiv on July 29.
Informing the women about happy news, Poroshenko said: “We are fighting to ensure the release of all Ukrainians who are held hostage by bandits and terrorists. Despite the fact that these fiends use torture with respect to the guys, our military have a very strong spirit and endure the test with honor. ”
The president said that the operation to free the hostages had been conducted under his personal control and had been secret, because any unnecessary information could have prevented the release of prisoners. That’s why women and mothers learned about the fate of their loved ones only after final completion of all actions to liberate the Ukrainian military.
