SBU declares that Russian militants responsible for Mariupol attack are eliminated

On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, SBU Chairman Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said that the special operation to kill the militants was conducted by a counterintelligence unit of Ukraine’s SBU Security Service near the village of Bezimyane in Novoazovskiy district, Donetsk region.

In this operation was killed a group of 11 people led by a Russian serviceman who organized and carried out shelling of the residential areas of Mariupol on January 24.

“The Russian officer terrorist, who directed the Russian artillery, and all of his 10 accomplices have been eliminated,” Nalyvaichenko said.

As this area isn’t under the control of Ukrainian forces it was impossible to arrest them, the only alternative was the physical elimination.

“In order that such things won’t happen with Russian troops any more, please, don’t take part in terrorist attacks against the peaceful population of our state,” stressed Nalyvaichenko.

On January 24, after shelling of Russian troops on Mariupol 30 people killed and 117 were injured.
