Russia`s Supreme Court confirms five-year entry ban on leader of the Crimean Tatar people

The Russian Supreme Court has confirmed Ukrainian presidential envoy for the Crimean Tatar people and leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Ukrainian MP Mustafa Dzhemilev is refused entry into Russia for five years, according to a lawyer.

”The Supreme Court did not change the ruling passed by the Moscow City Court on a five-year ban on Dzhemilev`s entry into Russia, introduced by the FSB Security Service. Now the ECHR…” lawyer Mark Feygin wrote on Twitter.

As reported earlier, the Moscow City Court on May 20 rejected the complaint of Dzhemilev`s defense against the ban imposed by the FSB. The court hearing took place behind closed doors, as the materials of the case are classified as ”secret.”

In 2014, Dzhemilev was barred from entering Russia and Russian-occupied Crimea until 2019. Also, a criminal case under three articles was initiated against Dzhemilev in Russia, he was arrested in absentia and put on the federal wanted list.
