Russian troops placed multiple launch rocket systems at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

State Enterprise National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine “Energoatom” noted on December 8, 2022, that Russian troops, who occupied the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the south of Ukraine brought several “Grad” multiple launch rocket systems there, which could mean the provocations.

“Yesterday [on December 7, 2022 – ed.], Russian troops brought several “Grad” multiple rocket launchers to the territory of the captured Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant,” said the State Enterprise National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine.

Russian soldiers placed this weapon near power unit No. 6, right next to the territory of the station’s dry storage of spent nuclear fuel, where they had previously built some “defensive structures” in secret mode, violating all the conditions of the organization of nuclear and radiation safety.

“The most probable provocation that is being prepared is the shelling of the opposite bank of the Dnipro River, in particular the bridge Nikopol-Marganets, with these “Grad” rocket systems directly from the ZNPP site, using the “cover” of power units and spent nuclear fuel storage,” believes the State Enterprise National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine “Energoatom”.

“Energoatom” reminded that Russian troops are using the nuclear power plant for military purposes and have been placing personnel, military equipment, weapons and explosives there since the very beginning of the aggression.
