Russian shelling damaged about 68% of high-voltage substations in 3 regions of Ukraine

The press service of Ukrenergo (an electricity transmission system operator in Ukraine) reported on April 6, 2023, that since September, 12 massive attacks by Russian missiles and drones have been carried out on the facilities of Ukrenergo in the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions (east of Ukraine), as a result of which about 68% of high-voltage substations and 833 km of lines were damaged.

According to the press service of Ukrenergo (an electricity transmission system operator in Ukraine), the energy infrastructure of the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine is under constant Russian attacks.

“Since September, 12 massive attacks have been carried out on Ukrenergo facilities in the eastern region alone, during which 27 cruise missiles and drones were used. All power plants in the region were shelled and suffered varying degrees of damage,” explained the press service of Ukrenergo.

More than 200 highly qualified repairmen work every day to restore damaged energy infrastructure in the east of Ukraine.
