Russian proxies attack Ukraine, incl. near OSCE base, 21 times in last day

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine, including near an OSCE base, 21 times in the past 24 hours, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The occupiers fired from infantry fighting vehicles and 82mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the village of Zaitseve, while areas near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska, despite the deployment of the OSCE base there, were shelled with the use of heavy machine guns, grenade launchers of various weapons systems and infantry fighting vehicles, the ATO HQ said in an update as of 06:00 Kyiv time on May 31.
The Russian-backed mercenaries fired 120mm mortars on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Verkhniotoretske, Novobakhmutivka, Opytne, and the town of Krasnohorivka. The enemy opened fire from small arms, grenade launchers of various systems and 82mm mortars on the defenders of the town of Avdiyivka and the village of Nevelske.
In addition, the militants fired small arms, heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launchers on the Ukrainian fortified positions near Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Novotroyitske and Talakivka. An enemy sniper was also working near Krasnohorivka.
Another proof that Russia supplies arms and ammunition to the Donbas militants is that a modern infantry flame-thrower, which was accepted for service by the Russian Armed Forces, was seized during a recent skirmish with an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group.
”It can be concluded that the increase in the number of attacks and the presence of Russian modern weapons in Ukrainian territory is connected with the arrival of another Russian `humanitarian convoy,`” the ATO HQ concluded.
