Russian missile attacks destroyed property of Ukraine’s nuclear company in the amount of UAH 32M

The State Enterprise National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine Energoatom reported on April 17, 2023, that the value of the property of Energoatom, destroyed due to Russian aggression, has already reached 32 billion hryvnias.

“As a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the property and infrastructure of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and other separate divisions of the State Enterprise Energoatom were damaged or destroyed. According to preliminary estimates, the value of this property, buildings, structures and infrastructure facilities of the company has already reached UAH 32 billion,” informed the State Enterprise National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine.

The total amount of losses and damages caused to Energoatom by Russia will be determined after the liberation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, the return of actual control over all property to the Ukrainian operator and its full inspection and inventory.

According to a joint assessment by the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank, attacks on Ukraine’s energy, heating and gas infrastructure have caused more than $10 billion in damage.
